Switzerland: Fire destroys greenhouse Rutishauser AG

In the Swiss community of Züberwangen, a large fire all but destroyed greenhouse company Rutishauser AG. The fire reportedly broke out on September 7, causing millions of Euros in damage, says German website Gabot.de.

About 80% of the 50,000 square meter lot fell prey to the flames. The fire quickly spread to the greenhouses. Fortunately no people were injured. Despite the disaster, Rutishauser AG announced its intention of a speedy recovery.

Recently, two youths between the ages of 14 and 15 years, under the guidance of their father, have turned themselves in at police in the canton of St. Gallen. Based on their statements, the two are assumed to have caused the fire. Both youngsters will likely face the court later this week.
