US: San Diego Sheriff's Dept. busts large marijuana greenhouse operation

The San Diego County Sheriff's Dept., Fallbrook substation has reported a large marijuana operation was busted tuesday afternoon in Rainbow.

According to Sheriff's Sgt. Patrick Yates, at approximately 2 p.m. today, Tues., Sept. 3, "Members of the Sheriff's Fallbrook Substation Crime Suppression Team developed information that led them to suspect a large marijuana grow in the 2200 block of Rainbow Valley Blvd., in Rainbow. Based on the information they gathered, a search warrant was issued for the property."

Yates said the area that was searched included several greenhouses in the area surrounded by other greenhouses and plant nurseries.

"A total of 3,379 marijuana plants with a potential yield of over $7,000,000 in street value were found and seized," said Yates.
