The technology developed by Siropack, the latest in a long series of patents filed by the company based in Cesenatico, in the Italian province of Forlì-Cesena, that manufactures automatic food and pharmaceutical packaging machines, has officially been recognized in the United States, Mexico, and Brazil after the completion of the patent analysis process in each country.

"The Respect system is a technology that has generated significant interest in the Americas," explains Rocco De Lucia, the owner of Siropack. "Our presence at the NPE show in Orlando in 2024 allowed us to showcase this technology to key stakeholders in the plastics industry. The recent patent approval in the United States, Mexico, and Brazil further solidifies our standing in these markets, which are characterized by significant economic opportunities. These markets recognize 'Made in Italy' as synonymous with quality and advanced technology.
The patent for the 'Respect' system, which seals mono-material APET trays, was officially recognized in Europe and beyond in 2023. Siropack later supplemented it with new related patents focusing on ensuring proper sealing and trays' traceability.
'Respect' is a pioneering innovation for the Cesenatico-based company. This technology utilizes a unique rim treatment that allows for the creation of the world's first tamper-evident, anti-counterfeiting tray. This technology ensures optimal sealing of single-material r-PET trays at lower temperatures and in less time than PET/PE containers require. The tray's benefits extend beyond food safety. It also improves productivity, sustainability, recyclability, and circularity. The tray keeps products flat and fresh while allowing you to check the seal. Luminophores in the glue on the rim make this possible. The glue is recyclable as well.
"We are flattered by the great attention we have received from the American market," De Lucia concludes. Unfortunately, we are not seeing the same level of attention from the European Union, which is more committed to sterile ideological battles through the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).
