New double rail suspended mobile irrigation officially hits the market

IRMO5 is the name of the new double-rail mobile overhead irrigator that Urbinati is presenting at the GreenTech trade fair in Amsterdam (10-12 June 2025). 'Designed to offer precision, reliability and next-generation connectivity,' reads a company statement.

The IRMO5 represents a major step forward in greenhouse irrigation systems, combining advanced technology with user-friendly operation. This state-of-the-art irrigation boom offers unmatched flexibility and efficiency for professional growers.

These are the main features of the new IRMO5: 7' touchscreen operator panel enlarged; high brightness display with UV protection, usable at temperatures from 0 to +50°C; remote control via App – via rugged tablet (optional) with customisable graphics for a tailored user experience; bidirectional, zone-specific irrigation; full customisation of irrigation cycles within each zone; support for up to 16 solenoid valves for extended control and wide scalability.

Much attention has also been paid to safety and precision: with limit switch with safety cable and acoustic alarm; encoder mounted on cable for position control; independent external power cable; simplified and secure connection to the power supply.

The motor is highly efficient and reduces energy consumption by 15% without sacrificing power.

'With regard to advanced control and integration,' the note continues, 'programming is fully customisable, with weekly scheduling, water consumption recording (litres used), power supply for external devices mounted on the arm (e.g. UV lamps, cameras), remote technical assistance and simplified diagnostics. Alarms link directly to the user and maintenance manual pages.'
