NL: Solar park for growers NEXTgarden

The greenhouse horticulture area NEXTgarden is taking steps to improve the sustainability of their cultivation. A recent special by the municipality of Lingewaard highlighted several energy projects. For instance, the eggplant cultivation at De Linge Aubergines is praised for achieving an eighty percent gas saving thanks to using the heat from a biomass power plant. The grower also recycles CO₂ from a waste incinerator.

Another development in the area is a solar field in Bemmel, which will be almost entirely invisible to the surrounding area. This field will provide local businesses with green energy. It is a project by the energy company Solinoor from IJzendoorn. The solar field is located between Heuvelsestraat and Karstraat in Bemmel and will not be connected to the main electricity grid but will be linked to the energy system of the growers of Lingezegen Energy at NEXTgarden.

Furthermore, there is an exploration into the storage of solar energy and the potential conversion to green hydrogen, with which NEXTgarden aims to take new steps towards an energy-neutral status by 2030.
