Kekkilä-BVB has initiated customer trials to evaluate an innovative, sustainable, and renewable substrate constituent. Seven growers from the Netherlands eagerly volunteered to participate, with growers from other countries anticipated to follow suit. The company expects that experiencing the use of this material in real-time conditions will yield valuable insights into its utilization, constraints, and adaptability, thereby enhancing its further development.
After rigorous testing at Kekkilä-BVB labs, the company embarked on customer trials. During the kickoff, facilitators Arjan Zwinkels and Lisa Zamparo led a discussion on the sustainability of growing media constituents. Emphasis was placed on the principle of 'fit for purpose' as the starting point in any product development endeavor. By synergizing the strengths of various raw materials, Kekkilä-BVB's substrates can be optimized for both effectiveness and sustainability. The unique properties and sustainability qualities of the new raw material position it favorably for integration into future substrates.
With support from the innovation team, product development experts, and sales representatives, Kekkilä-BVB anticipates that the trials will offer significant learning experiences for both the growers and the company itself. Encouragingly, initial responses from the growers serve as positive indicators of the potential success of the trials.
