Svensson introduces new aesthetic, technical, deco screens

Shopping is all about the experience, especially when spending a day at the garden center. In order to gain that experience and make shopping even more enjoyable, Svensson is introducing a new collection of garden center screens that combine function and aesthetics. The material secures a favorable climate, while the special design and fashionable colors provide a better visual appearance.



The new garden center screens from Svensson do what you expect from a garden center screen; they give shade, spread light evenly during the day and provide energy savings and a better climate during the night. But on top of that, the screens come in a special design in four different colours; two natural colors gray and terracotta, and two more fresher colors lavender and yellow. In this way they can be integrated better into the architecture and design of the shopping area.



Svensson has been working on the development on these screens for quite some years. According to CEO Anders Ludvigson, the product is a result of a perfect symbiosis between Svensson's interior textiles division and their horticultural textiles division.

"Both of our divisions combined their technical expertise in order to develop a screen that could meet climate requirements as well as design aesthetics. They came up with an innovative screen that guarantees a perfect climate, looks good, but can also meet the high quality standards that customers demand from our textiles. The screens come with the standard 5 year warranty. The screen has been tested for colorfastness, according to the EN ISO 105-B02 standards. As well as this, the screens have flame-retardant properties in order to meet strict fire codes."



Ludvigson explained that the introduction of the new coloured indoor garden center screens marks Svensson’s comeback in the garden center industry. "We haven't been as active in the garden center market as we were a few years ago. We noticed this market deserved more focus and we hope to gain more ground with the introduction of this product series. It is an important industry that we would like to serve even better."

So far the first installations with the new coloured climate screens have been commissioned at garden centers in the Netherlands and the United States. "While still early, the first feedback we received is very positive and we look forward to working together with growers to fully utilize the new technology.
